Mt. Biking: Dragonsback - Coed y Brenin Wind Direction: N/A Wind Stength: N/A Surf / Sea State: N/A Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: N/A Weather: Raining Max Speed: Distance Covered: 17 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Nice ride around the Dragonsback at Coed y Brenin in the pouring rain.
On my own so went aruond at a steady pace. There were quite a few people
around to start with, but once I got away from the visitor centre I barely
saw anyone. Snapped a spoke in my rear wheel at around about 5 miles in to
the ride, so stopped to remove it just as the heavens really opened! Rode
the rest of it farily easily so as not to damage the wheel more than was
necessary.
The Adams Family sections have all been heavily armoured and re-buillast
time I tried them and this time they were easily rideable. Last time they
were a nightmare!
As I got back closer to the visitor centre there were lots of groups out
riding and the last few sections were closed with diversions in place so
everyone was going the same way which gave me lots of people to catch and
overtake.. Always a good bit of motivation.
A good ride depsite the rain, a little slippery in places but what do you
expect from mountain biking in Wales. I should make the effort to get to
Coed y Brenin a little more often.
